Taking care of your Extensions at home
Shower tips
Wash with sulfate free shampoo and with what your stylist recommends.
Separate your rows to wash between them using your finger.
Avoid rigorous scrubbing where your extensions are and rinse really well.
I recommend using a detox shampoo once a month to remove build up safely from your extensions. My favorite is Kevin Murphy and I carry it in the salon! I also recommend using a moisture mask when using the detox shampoo. Think of it as your "treatment shower"!

Styling/Brushing

Brush twice a day and make sure if wearing multiple rows you are brushing between them.
ALWAYS hold the top of your wefts when brushing and start from the bottom up.

Use moisturizing leave in and oil the bottom up morning and night.

Heat protectant if very important anytime you are heat styling your hair. I carry 2 different extension safe heat protectants in the salon.

Sleep in a secure low braid and use a silk pillow case.

Summer Tips/Don'ts

Never sleep with wet hair
Don't use unapproved sunscreen or products that are not extension safe.

Don't skip brushing or maintenance
Avoid Sunscreen with Avobenzone, Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. Look for mineral based natural sunscreens. I love the Blue lizard brand and SunBum makes one in a white bottle.

Blondes be super careful if you are using self tanner or spray tans. This will change the color of your extensions. The sun will also change the color so be sure to use a hat and spray with UV protection when in the sun.

Wet your hair and saturate with leave in or a mask before swimming and then secure in low braids.
